Mickey Rogers and I go waaay back. I first met the talented blues man in Greenville, MS and he's been a friend of mine and my family ever since. According to the Mississippi Arts Commission website, Mickey is honored with a stone on the Musician Walk of Fame in Greenville, MS. Mickey is honored with a Sonny Boy Nelson Award from the MACE organization which produces the oldest festival in Mississippi “The Mississippi Delta Blues and Heritage Festival.” Mickey played in the Tyrone Davis band for 16 years and with Bobby Rush for many years. He was Willie Foster’s band leader and traveled internationally many times with Foster. He is on numerous CD’s produced by Blues Legends from the early years.
